Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan records and retirement benefit calculations with precision
- Process retiree enrollment forms and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Respond to complex pension inquiries via phone, email, and secure portals
- Conduct data audits and reconciliation of pension accounts nightly
- Collaborate with finance teams on monthly pension fund reporting
- Maintain confidential records in compliance with HIPAA and state privacy laws
- Support system upgrades and process improvements for pension software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years' experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Proven ability to work night shifts (11 PM - 7 AM) with consistent availability
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and pension management software (e.g., PeopleSoft)
- Deep understanding of ERISA, IRS 415(b)(2), and Texas pension regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Excellent communication skills for complex benefit explanations
- Government sector experience preferred
