Responsibilities
- Analyze and administer federal pension plan documents to ensure compliance with ERISA and IRS regulations
- Provide guidance to federal employees regarding retirement benefits, contribution limits, and distribution options
- Conduct audits of pension plan records to maintain accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Collaborate with financial analysts to evaluate plan solvency and funding strategies
- Prepare detailed reports on pension plan status for congressional and stakeholder reviews
- Train federal personnel on pension policy updates and procedural changes
- Respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests related to pension records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Proficiency in federal regulations (ERISA, IRS 401(k), TSP guidelines)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for complex financial data
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background clearance
- Experience with federal HR systems (e.g., National Finance Center)
