Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for public sector employees ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Process retirement applications, calculate benefits, and maintain accurate participant records
- Conduct complex financial projections and benefit scenario analyses
- Provide expert guidance to retirees, employers, and stakeholders on pension policies
- Develop and deliver educational workshops on retirement planning topics
- Collaborate with investment and actuarial teams on plan sustainability initiatives
- Monitor legislative changes and implement policy updates affecting pension administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or public finance
- Proficiency in pension calculation software and HRIS systems
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and California pension laws
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Exceptional communication abilities for stakeholder engagement and presentations
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Experience with government procurement processes and public sector compliance
