Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans, including enrollment, disbursements, and compliance with ERISA regulations
- Process retirement applications and benefit calculations with 100% accuracy
- Conduct member outreach and education via weekend workshops and virtual sessions
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure regulatory compliance and financial integrity
- Maintain confidential records using secure government databases
- Respond to complex member inquiries within 48-hour SLA
- Participate in weekend shift rotations covering Saturday/Sunday hours
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle HCM)
- Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and NC pension statutes
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Weekend shift availability and flexibility to work non-traditional hours
- Valid NC government security clearance
- SHRM-SCP or CEBS certification preferred
