Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, disbursements, and member records with 99.9% accuracy
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Minnesota state statutes
- Process retirement applications, calculate benefits, and resolve complex member inquiries
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams for annual compliance reviews
- Train staff on pension administration systems and regulatory updates
- Generate quarterly reports for stakeholders using SQL and Excel
- Implement process improvements for weekend shift operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years pension plan administration or benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Minnesota PERS laws
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for complex calculations
- Excellent communication skills for member interactions and stakeholder reporting
- Ability to work independently on weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Government/public sector experience preferred
