Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, disbursements, and record-keeping for state employees
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Revised Code and federal pension regulations
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefits using specialized systems
- Conduct quarterly audits and financial reporting for pension fund solvency
- Respond to complex inquiries from retirees, agencies, and legal counsel
- Collaborate with finance teams on investment strategy and fund performance
- Develop training materials for agency pension coordinators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency with pension software (e.g., Millennium, Oracle HCM)
- Deep understanding of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Ohio pension laws
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun 7am-3pm)
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
