Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch appropriate units (police, fire, EMS) using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units
- Enter and update incident data in computer systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Operate multiple communication equipment simultaneously
- Document all interactions per department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Minimum 50 WPM typing certification
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
