Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate units
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Adhere to federal, state, and departmental protocols
- Participate in continuous training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid Florida driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic computer proficiency
- No felony convictions
