Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and status updates
- Provide critical information to officers and other emergency services
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Assist in training new dispatchers and process improvement initiatives
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Valid Maryland driver's license (Class C or higher)
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making abilities
- Experience in customer service or high-pressure environments preferred
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluency in English (Spanish proficiency highly desirable)
