Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio protocols
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-incident scenarios
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in critical situations
- Operate NCIC and state law enforcement databases
- Perform quality assurance monitoring of recorded communications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- US citizenship or permanent resident status
- Basic computer literacy skills
- Strong stress tolerance and emotional resilience
