Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police units with precision and urgency
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multi-agency responders (EMS/Fire)
- Operate radio equipment and emergency alert systems
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support
- Adhere to NJDOP protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (college preferred)
- Valid NJ driver's license (minimum 1 year)
- Pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed ≥40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts (24/7 coverage)
- NJ Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification within 6 months
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- US citizenship or permanent residency
