Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Dispatch appropriate units using CAD systems and radio communication protocols
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and digital records
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate NCIC/NCIC databases for suspect/vehicle checks
- Monitor radio channels and maintain situational awareness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid NC driver's license
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (typing test required)
- Clear criminal background and drug-free history
- Strong multitasking and de-escalation abilities
- Basic computer literacy (Windows OS)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Pass hearing and vision examinations
