Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police officers, fire units, and EMS to incident locations
- Maintain accurate real-time status updates for all active units
- Utilize CAD systems to document incident details and maintain records
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Remain calm under pressure while handling critical situations
- Provide clear instructions to callers during medical emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- US citizenship or legal permanent residency
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
