Responsibilities
- Emergency Response Coordination: Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls, accurately gathering and relaying critical information to responding units.
- Radio Operations: Monitor multiple radio frequencies to dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently during incidents.
- Data Entry: Maintain precise records of calls, incidents, and unit locations using CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) systems.
- Community Assistance: Provide information, directions, and assistance to the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Crisis Management: Remain calm and composed while handling high-stress situations, providing emotional support to callers in distress.
- Unit Status: Monitor officer status, availability, and location to ensure optimal resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service, call center operations, or public safety is preferred but not mandatory (training provided).
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to type at least 40 words per minute; proficiency with computers and data entry systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods; good hearing and vision (with or without correction).
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Background: No felony convictions; must pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening.
