Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with calm precision and empathy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems and radio communications during high-pressure situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses including fire, EMS, and law enforcement
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental SOPs
- Participate in ongoing scenario-based training simulations
- Collaborate with field units via radio and digital channels
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background investigation and psychological evaluation
- Proficient in typing (minimum 35 WPM) and computer literacy
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills
- Must pass TCOLE Dispatcher Basic Course within 6 months
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- No felony convictions
