Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police, fire, and EMS units
- Maintain accurate real-time tracking of all field units and their status
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Document all call details and actions taken in compliance with protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during complex emergencies
- Remain calm under extreme pressure while making rapid decisions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Clear criminal background check and drug screen
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified through assessment)
- Strong multitasking and active listening abilities
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Indiana driver's license
