Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with precision and urgency
- Dispatch police units and emergency services using multi-channel radio systems
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, Hospitals) during critical incidents
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via phone during emergencies
- Operate NCIC databases for background checks and warrant verification
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college preferred)
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to speak Spanish (bilingual certification required)
- Successful completion of 911 dispatcher training program
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire
