Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with high accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incidents using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all calls and responses in accordance with departmental policies.
- Monitor security cameras and radio frequencies to detect and respond to potential threats.
- Provide critical information to responding units and coordinate inter-agency communications during large-scale incidents.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including typing, speaking, and listening, during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal history and drug screening.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
