Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from the public
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents and communications
- Provide critical information to officers and other emergency services
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress situations
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously
- Adhere to all department policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Strong multitasking abilities and situational awareness
- Basic computer proficiency (typing test required)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
