Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and precision
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to field units during emergencies
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized equipment
- Remain calm and professional under high-pressure situations
- Participate in ongoing training drills and scenario exercises
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18+ years old (per Florida statutes)
- Valid Florida driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills (20+ WPM preferred)
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- No felony convictions (misdemeanors evaluated case-by-case)
