Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, providing critical information to callers
- Operate radio systems to dispatch police units and coordinate responses
- Maintain accurate records of all calls and communications
- Utilize CAD systems to track officer locations and incident statuses
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during emergencies
- Collaborate with fire, EMS, and other public safety agencies
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance emergency response capabilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to remain calm and think clearly during high-stress situations
- Strong communication skills with clear articulation
- Basic computer literacy and data entry proficiency
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Valid Oregon driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions
