Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with calm efficiency and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RAD systems while maintaining radio communication protocols
- Enter and update critical incident data in real-time during emergency situations
- Coordinate with EMS, Fire, and other city agencies during multi-agency responses
- Maintain detailed records of all communications per departmental standards
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously during high-stress scenarios
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Proficient in Windows OS and basic computer applications
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish strongly preferred)
