Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Operate radio systems to coordinate field units and dispatch resources
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all communications
- Utilize CAD systems to track incident statuses and officer locations
- Provide critical information to officers and other emergency responders
- Calmly de-escalate callers in high-stress situations
- Collaborate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Tennessee driver's license
- Pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Strong multitasking and decision-making skills under pressure
- Clear communication abilities (written and verbal)
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
