Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Operate multi-channel radio systems for police, fire, and EMS coordination
- Enter and maintain detailed incident data in RMS/CAD systems
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation during critical incidents
- Dispatch appropriate units using established protocols and procedures
- Train on NCIC/NCIC database access and emergency management systems
- Collaborate with cross-agency responders during major incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 35+ WPM with accuracy
- U.S. citizenship and valid North Carolina driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Clear speaking voice with strong communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be 18+ years old and pass hearing/vision tests
