Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police units and emergency resources efficiently
- Maintain detailed records and logs of all communications
- Operate radio systems, CAD software, and emergency alert platforms
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid Virginia driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Minimum 35 WPM typing proficiency
- Clear communication skills with ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer literacy and technical aptitude
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
