Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls with calm professionalism
- Dispatch police units using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Enter and maintain accurate incident records and case logs
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Provide critical information to field units during active situations
- Maintain strict confidentiality and department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (verified through assessment)
- Exceptional communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain composed under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
