Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public and officers
- Operate radio systems to dispatch police units efficiently
- Enter and maintain accurate incident data in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Maintain calm demeanor under high-pressure situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Document all communications and actions per department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Exceptional verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- US citizenship or legal resident status
