Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and 911 infrastructure
- Coordinate resources for police, fire, and medical emergencies
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Remain composed during high-stress crisis situations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural protocols
- Complete all training modules to achieve dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (test required)
- Clear criminal background check and drug screen
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Residency in Wisconsin within 6 months of hire
