Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain continuous radio communication with field units
- Provide pre-arrival emergency medical instructions to callers
- Enter and retrieve critical information from law enforcement databases
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM (certified test required)
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and polygraph
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening
