Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police units using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incident reports
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) during multi-agency incidents
- Provide clear, concise information to field personnel and the public
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Proficient in typing (40+ WPM) and basic computer skills
- Exceptional communication and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
