Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate multi-channel radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and telephone networks
- Maintain detailed and accurate call logs, incident reports, and case documentation
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, and medical services during complex incidents
- Monitor multiple communication channels simultaneously while maintaining situational awareness
- Participate in continuous training programs to enhance technical and crisis management skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to pass extensive background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under extreme pressure
- Proficient typing speed (minimum 40 WPM) with high accuracy
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
