Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and non-emergency requests with accuracy and compassion
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment
- Coordinate resources between police, fire, and EMS during emergencies
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation per department protocols
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers when appropriate
- Remain calm under pressure while managing multiple simultaneous incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of hire
- Pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional communication skills
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
