Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate units (police, fire, EMS) using CAD software and radio communication
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all incidents and communications
- Provide critical instructions to callers during emergencies until help arrives
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate and maintain communication equipment per department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
