Responsibilities
- Receive, evaluate, and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Accurately record and transmit critical information to responding personnel.
- Maintain constant radio contact with field units to coordinate operations.
- Assist the public with inquiries and provide critical safety instructions.
- Update incident reports and status information in the central database.
- Perform shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the State of Ohio.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and medical exam.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
- Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
