Responsibilities
- Process 9-1-1 emergency calls and non-emergency dispatch requests with accuracy and empathy
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software
- Coordinate resources between police, fire, and EMS units during active incidents
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation in compliance with state regulations
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival emergency medical instructions
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during multi-jurisdictional operations
- Participate in continuous training programs to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Ability to pass hearing and vision tests meeting state standards
- Experience in customer service, conflict resolution, or high-stress environments preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be a U.S. citizen and meet residency requirements
