Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with empathy and urgency
- Dispatch police/fire/EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate incident documentation per NIMS standards
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during emergencies
- Monitor radio communications across multiple channels
- Operate 9-1-1 equipment and backup systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Minimum 18 years of age at hire
- Typing speed: 40+ WPM verified by test
- Pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, data entry)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Texas Peace Officer Commission certification (post-hire)
- Fluent English/Spanish bilingual preferred
