Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls with speed and accuracy while maintaining calm composure
- Operate CAD systems and radio equipment to coordinate police units during emergencies
- Provide critical information to first responders and maintain detailed incident logs
- Multi-task between call-taking, radio dispatching, and administrative tasks
- Adhere to strict protocols for crisis intervention and sensitive information handling
- Collaborate with cross-agency partners including fire and EMS services
- Complete mandatory training modules and certification requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid Pennsylvania driver's license
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Proficient in computer systems and typing (40+ WPM preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong decision-making skills under high-pressure situations
