Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD systems and radio equipment
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to field personnel during active incidents
- Remain composed under extreme pressure during crisis situations
- Operate multi-channel communication systems simultaneously
- Complete state-mandated dispatcher certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean record
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background investigation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptive learning systems
- Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
