Responsibilities
- Answer incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Operate radio communication equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks with accuracy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (35+ WPM)
- Pass extensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- U.S. citizenship and valid North Carolina driver's license
