Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, assessing situations and dispatching appropriate personnel
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to maintain communication with field units
- Enter and manage data in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions and crisis intervention to callers
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident reports
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS, law enforcement) during emergencies
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum age 18 at time of appointment
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified through assessment)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong emotional stability and decision-making under pressure
