Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and compassion
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate law enforcement, fire, and EMS responses
- Maintain detailed incident logs using CAD systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Perform multi-tasking in high-pressure situations requiring rapid decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-agency partners during crisis scenarios
- Complete state-mandated dispatcher certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass criminal background check and psychological evaluation
- Strong typing proficiency (40+ WPM)
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed during emergencies
- Basic computer literacy and data entry experience
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
