Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, prioritize incidents, and dispatch appropriate personnel
- Operate radio systems, CAD software, and multi-line telephones during high-pressure situations
- Accurately document call details, incident reports, and unit activities in digital systems
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical and public safety emergencies
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies for efficient resource deployment
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to department protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience in customer service, call centers, or public safety highly desirable
- Proficiency with computer applications and multi-tasking in fast-paced environments
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
