Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio equipment
- Enter and update incident data in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents and emergencies
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers and field units
- Adhere to all federal, state, and departmental protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (certified test required)
- Strong written/verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and data entry proficiency
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
