Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and precision
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols during critical incidents
- Perform multi-tasking in high-pressure situations while documenting call details
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to callers
- Adhere to NIMS and DC-specific emergency response protocols
- Train in advanced technologies including GIS mapping and mobile data terminals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
- Pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- U.S. citizenship and residency in DC/MD/VA for 5+ years
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency and aptitude for technology systems
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
