Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls and non-emergency police communications with accuracy and urgency
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to dispatch police, fire, and EMS units
- Maintain detailed incident logs and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) records
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques during emergency calls
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Utilize NCIC and state crime databases for warrant checks and suspect information
- Train on emergency protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 40 WPM typing proficiency
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Valid Arizona driver's license at time of hire
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking abilities under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
