Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with accuracy and speed
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation per department protocols
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Collaborate with cross-agency partners during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Complete 12-week paid academy training covering crisis intervention and procedural protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of hire
- Valid Arizona Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Pass background investigation, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy (verified via assessment)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new technologies
- No felony convictions and clean driving record for past 7 years
