Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with compassion and accuracy
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Input and maintain detailed incident reports in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Maintain composure during high-stress emergency situations
- Multi-task between call-taking, radio dispatch, and data entry
- Adhere to all FCC regulations and department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn complex systems
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
