Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and precision
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical responses
- Maintain accurate call logs and digital records using CAD systems
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Collaborate with first responders and city agencies during emergencies
- Complete state-mandated dispatcher certification program
- Perform data entry and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Oregon driver's license
- Ability to pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Proficiency with computer applications and multi-tasking
- Must be at least 18 years old
