Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police officers, fire, and EMS units using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate radio logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Coordinate resources during major incidents and disasters
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application process)
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Clear speaking voice and excellent hearing ability
