Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems and radio equipment during critical incidents
- Coordinate resources with police, fire, and EMS agencies
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Adhere to NENA and NCIC protocols for information dissemination
- Participate in continuous scenario-based training drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- No felony convictions; clean criminal background check
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass psychological and polygraph examinations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-tasking under pressure
- Strong situational judgment and de-escalation skills
- Commitment to rotating shift schedules including nights/holidays
